Taking more personal responsibility and improving self-organisation are typical challenges we face in our working lives. In the workplace, this means that individual employees can expect new freedoms when it comes to decision-making and responsibilities. What often gets overlooked is that this creates its own new set of challenges: increasing workloads and constant availability place stress on employees in small and large organisations alike and can lead to overwork.

Employees need new skills to handle these challenges. We believe that ultimately the question is not “Why don’t I ever have any time?” but rather “How do I make time?” This requires developing an awareness of one’s own self-management and time-management habits along with methods and tools for better managing one’s own time – as individuals and at the team level. And these are things that can be learned and practiced.

This training is for all employees and managers who have looked at their calendar and said, “I don’t actually have time for this kind of training.” Jokes aside, our training is perfect for teams or individual employees who are interested in reflecting on their self- and time-management habits and open to new ideas.

Our training presents approaches that can make all the difference. We start off by identifying your specific resources and stressors. In the second stage, we examine methods: which ones have already worked for your organisation, and where is there a need for new approaches? Depending on individual needs, we provide participants methods for self-management and time management and help them with the direct application of their knowledge in their day-to-day work.

  • Identifying your inner catalysts: What are my individual stressors? What motivates me?
  • Understanding and taking advantage of your own resources and biorhythm
  • My time wasters: who or what is actually just wasting my time?
  • Daily teamwork at a glance: what challenges do we encounter? How can they be handled at the team level?
  • Setting and pursuing clear goals and priorities
  • Useful tools and techniques for time management – at the team and individual level
  • Coping with constant information overload: the “getting things done” approach
  • Effective methods for managing stress

Before the training, we like to have you complete a preliminary online assessment to give us a clear picture of each participant’s needs. This brief set of questions helps us to better understand your expectations for the workshop, how satisfied you are with your current time management and what typical challenges you face in your day-to-day work. That way, we can select very specific focus areas along with the right methods and exercises.

During the training, we alternate between brief segments of theory, practical exercises and reflection in the group. Participants are consistently given the opportunity to reflect on their own time and self-management habits and to draw from their own day-to-day work experiences. For the sake of learning in the group, we believe that a stimulating, cooperative discussion on a level playing field is quite important.

Trainer

Depending on the number of participants and needs, we provide one, two or a whole team of trainers. We consider expertise and experience in the particular field but, more importantly, we make sure the trainer is a good match for your organisation.
