At a glance

  • We come to you – in Germany, elsewhere in Europe or around the globe.
  • We offer this training in German, English, Spanish and French.
  • 2-day training, multiple modules (e.g. 3 x 2 days) or individual coaching
  • First, we look at your needs and past experiences: What management experience do you already have? What do your organisation and staff expect from managers? What’s challenging? Where do you need to see new momentum?
  • With 6 or more participants, we work with two trainers

The list of today’s management challenges is long: uncertainties in a “VUCA” world, staffing shortages and employees who constantly expect more from their work environments. And that’s just the general situation. You also have challenges such as making good decisions with tight deadlines, creating an open and motivating work environment – all while trying to meet performance targets while considering the interests of colleagues at the same time.

Different situations may quickly call for a more agile or more traditional style. We help your managers strike a good balance in a diverse landscape and work on the three aspects of management: managing employees, managing organisations and self-management. Where do you encounter the most friction? Where are there good sources of energy? Where are new ideas needed? We will be happy to advise you on selecting the most appropriate content for your organisation or team.

The training is designed for prospective, new and experienced managers who are looking for new methods and perspectives. The objectives of the training may differ depending on the requirements and scope. In general, our trainings offer managers the following opportunities:

  • Expand your toolbox for your everyday managerial tasks
  • Become more confident and familiar with your strengths while also getting a better handle on challenging situations
  • Become more decisive – particularly in situations that call for making difficult decisions
  • Identify what is expected of you as a manager
  • Gain perspective in the area of both new and well-established management and leadership approaches

Employee-focused management:

  • identifying the expectations and roles of managers
  • Agile or traditional management: how do I navigate the tension between agility and control as a manager?
  • Building teams that perform: how do I tap into my team’s strengths? How do I deal with low performers?
  • Emotional management skills and employee motivation
  • Management as a form of communication: how do I communicate so that my management style comes across as sincere?
  • Dealing with conflicts in teams: identifying conflicts and the limitations of one’s own influence at an early stage
  • From colleague to manager: taking on leadership roles while remaining cooperative and friendly

Management with a view to the organisation

  • Strategic management: methods for developing visions, strategies and goals so that teams and their managers are on the same path together
  • Creating, improving or eliminating structures: what makes the most sense in which situation?
  • Making decisions and communicating them: when and how much involvement or delegating tasks is welcome and appropriate?
  • Among managers: how do I protect my own interests while respecting those of other managers?

Management with a view to my own interests:

  • Knowing your personal leadership style
  • Knowing and using your own strengths
  • Knowing your own habits: motivators and stressors, autopilot
  • What can I (actively) control as a manager, and where are the limits?
  • How do I consciously step back from time to time? The importance of self-care
  • Self-awareness, taking initiative and autonomy for managers in a VUCA world

We clarify all of the details with you at the very beginning of our training. Depending on your needs and scope of the training, we will be happy to come to you and conduct one-on-one or group interviews with managers or use an online assessment to identify the expectations, challenges and (prior) experiences of the participants. This information serves as the foundation for the training concept: While the content is varied and dynamic, the underlying methods are the same: during manager trainings in particular we rely on intensive discussions between the managers, feedback from both colleagues and from the trainers – all on a level playing field and in a non-threatening environment. Brief sections of theory provide a conceptual foundation and framework.

Depending on the number of participants and needs, we provide one, two or a whole team of trainers. We consider expertise and experience in the particular field but, more importantly we make sure the trainer is a good match for your organisation. Our motto: A good fit – with healthy dose of contrast.
