Intermediate transfer phases – Between each module, you will have the opportunity to apply ant test out what you have learned. denkmodell’s digital learning platform provides additional exploratory content. During each intermediate phase, attendees are also given an assignment to apply some of what they have learned back at their own companies. Honest discussions among equals helps you in the process. We incorporate and expand upon your experiences in the subsequent module.

Coaching on demand – Each participant also has two opportunities during the intermediate phases to make use of a 60-minute personal coaching session (by phone or in person) to address specific questions.

denkmodell’s 30 years of experience have confirmed many research findings. For example, successful managers always keep their sights on three “landmarks”: a) their own strengths and role, b) cooperation in the team, c) the organisation as a whole. This is why our Executive Development programme focuses on reflection, development and tapping into your strengths. The outcome: high-quality leadership that has a positive impact on employees’ morale, motivation and satisfaction. It makes all the difference for the organisation as a whole.

Our program consists of three modules. Each module focuses on one of the three leadership aspects.

Module A: Discovering your own strengths and potential
11‑12 June 2020
  • Identifying strengths: Your strengths are your biggest asset. Discover your managerial strengths and how to apply them most effectively.
  • Leadership roles: Hero, visionary, guru? Familiarise yourself with leadership roles and functions as well as how certain leadership styles affect organisations – and develop your own unique style.
  • Too much of a good thing: Learn how your strengths can also backfire – and what practical steps you can take to prevent that from happening.
  • Discover driving forces and tap into resources: Discover your own driving forces and motivators – and deploy your resources as a manager.
  • Self-management: Become better at setting priorities, time management and juggling multiple tasks at once.

Module B: Managing people and teams
20‑21 August 2020
  • Identifying and making use of your employees’ strengths: See how you can identify and develop your employees’ potential.
  • Being highly productive, together: Anyone who has ever worked in a well-functioning team knows how motivating and productive it can be. What can you do as a manager to create these kinds of productive teams?
  • Carrot or stick? Neither: Learn what really motivates people and how you can translate this knowledge into your everyday work as a manager.
  • Communication as a key competence: Communication is the key to team leadership. Learn techniques from communication psychology, such as how to improve your communication skills during employee reviews, feedback sessions and confrontations.
  • From colleague to manager: Learn what to watch for when you shift from the role of colleague into the role of boss, create a clear boundary and maintain openness and mutual respect.

Module C: Strategies, structures, optimising decisions
29-30 October 2020
  • So many decisions! One of a managers’ key roles is to be decisive. There are many ways to do this – from making announcements to delegating tasks. Here you can learn which strategies are most effective in each situation.
  • Goals, or in other words, what’s the point of it all anyway? Goals and strategies give organisations and teams a frame of reference. Learn various ways to set goals, communicate them and transform them into common goals for teams.
  • Roles and responsibilities: Roles connect people and organisations – and carry with them certain expectations. Far too often, these expectations are not made fully clear, however. And this can quickly lead to friction. But roles really can be clearly defined.
  • Structures and processes: The nervous system of every organisation, and like so many structures, they have “been around since the beginning of time.” But what kinds of structures and processes are most suitable for certain tasks, challenges and markets? Is agility a cure-all?
  • Calling on all agents of change! From administrators to designers, it’s important to understand and actively steer change processes. Practical perspectives on dealing with resistance and releasing transformative energy.
